About me

How I started..

I commenced my Shorinji Kempo voyage at Durham University, UK, in 2004. After completing my master’s degree, I subsequently relocated to Asia. Throughout my journey of Shorinji Kempo YOUGYO (養行), I received guidance and instruction from various sensei.

Busen student…

During the year 2017/2018, I had the opportunity to participate in the Busen course (武道専門コース) in Hyogo prefecture, Japan.

My sensei…

My main instructor is Matsumoto Yoshifumi sensei, a highly respected practitioner with the rank of seihanshi, 7th-dan. He holds the position of shō hōshi and serves as douin-cho of Kakogawa Hioka Douin, as well as being a WSKO Instructor.

It’s worth noting that the Wimbledon Branch maintains a sister club relationship with 加古川氷丘道院 (Kakogawa Hioka Douin) in Japan.

Friendship clubs…

I have a close affiliation with both the Shorinji Kempo club at Kobe Municipal Fukiai High School in Kobe and the Shorinji Kempo (Hong Kong Dojo) in Hong Kong.

We invite you to join us! Participating in Shorinji Kempo will undoubtedly provide you with a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Let’s come together and embark on this journey of growth and self-discovery.
